new to model Ts. just bought a 24 coupe.the old owner changed it to 12 volt also has alternator and distributer.needed a switch inside need help on wiring it
wiring just the switch
Welcome Kurt. What sort of a switch?
If you do a keyword search and look for "wiring"
you will find many threads with diagrams of original wiring. Here are 2. Your wiring will differ because of the alternator and distributor
but otherwise will probably be close to original
wiring.

More information needed. A switch for what? Depending on who did what in the past, there is no change in the wiring (except for that distributor) between 6V and 12V.
OK, I'll begin the big argument. No law says you can't put it back the way it belongs. Gentlemen, start your typing.
would be the original switch in dash.car ran when i bought it but all the wires for the switch was just dangling there.had to put two of them together to start it.with the floor button. has the origin cloth colored wire.thanks for the help.the posting for 6volt is the same as 12 for the switch and amp meter wiring.
Do your self a favor. Trace the wires from the terminal block on the firewall to the inside and label them "ABCDEF" like the terminal block and the wiring diagram shows. Take the switch and the ammeter out of the dash and feed the wires through the holes. It's a whole lot easier to work on when you're not upside down with a drop light working from the back of the dash, Of course, disconnect the battery first.
The previous owner probably lost the key and disconnected all the wires. There are only a certain number of keys for a Model T and there might be a little number (like '57' for instance) on the switch, you can order a key for it. If you have the key and it turns the ignition switch, then there is probably a problem within the original switch it's self.
