I know some will say I need to place a want ad for this, but I figure this will draw more attention here. Does anyone have an unsalvagable 26-27 coupe body that still has usable deck lid gusset plates in place? These are the triangular shaped metal pieces that are found at the bottom corners of the deck lid opening that hold a round rubber bumper to keep the deck lid from rattling. I believe the correct Ford part number was 57068X and 57069X. I had a pair that I was going to use on my grandfather's 27 coupe but a body shop lost one of them. I don't have the one they didn't lose in my hand, so I can't say which one that I need is. Thus I'll take both. I'd like to get this car finished.
Terry I'll look
NOPE I have 2 left sides and 1 right side from door's back on 26-7 coupes, but those pcs are not there

terry , u get my message?
Nine days ago, I asked if anyone had a pair of these brackets. A body shop that has had my grandfather's coupe since March for a repaint job, lost one of mine, and then didn't repaint the car. If they'd tried to charge me storage since March, I don't know what I would have done.
Anyway, Mike Peterson has come to my rescue and wouldn't let me pay him, even for the postage. Now Mike has been the target on this forum for dismantling mainly 26-27 Model T's, but before anyone starts that up again, I can truthfully say that these didn't come from anyone's restored car. I'd like to see his place, because it must resemble a 1930's-40's wrecking yard with many rusty bodies sitting around. While the brackets were not rusted out, they did not have fresh paint on them, but did have a minimum of 50 year's rust on them from sitting outside. Point is, they are very usable and his generosity is appreciated more than I can put in words.
I'm happy you found some
Until you desperately need an original, hard to find part, you won't realize what an asset Mike Peterson is. I did and I do. Jim Patrick
