Ain't that purdy!
Very nice photos of the pick up.
Wow!... no orange cones by the roadside..no hardhats... no lime green vests...no safety fence...no guards on the mixer....How did they ever survive.
Dennis, I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but they didn't. No one in those pictures is still alive...
Any idea of where that picture was taken, Knoxville Tn, Knoxville Ia?
I like the TT in the background. Purely functional.
There are some safety/warning devices in that picture. There are at least 2 red lanterns on the job site that I can see. One on the sand pile in front of the TT and one on the traffic side of the mixer. There could be barricades with lanterns out of view of the camera to move traffic over. Who knows.
Isn't that a late model Stanley at the right?
Looks like pouring concrete for a gas station.
Visable pump in the background and the sign on the pickup says (? Oil Company of Louisiana).
Standard Oil Company of Louisiana
I see five guys working and three supervising...not bad!
My Grandfather had a mixer like that in his Backyard......He was a building contractor in Blythe Ca in the late 40's into the 50's....I remember playing on it and turning the big wheels.......It was a "Big Gun" to me,or a Submarine......I would be a greasey mess when I came in from playin' all day on that thing.....He also had a truck like that but it was a Chevy...He liked the standard trans. and clutch.....Thanks for posting,,,that's a great photo.........Carl
