I bet those innertubes were red.
Anyone good at zooming in?
Look at the calender.
Herb
Are you sure it's a tire shop and not a house of ill repute? Are you sure those aren't inflatable toys?
Looks like they are running their tire shop out of the living room.
Herb, It's easy to zoom in. Just hold down your CTRL key and then keep hitting the + key. To zoom back out hold the ctrl key and tap -. Good trick I learned on here a while ago.
Nineteenth century building. Note the door hardware and the gas lighting.
It ain't just the walls. Look at the ceiling.
Hey, Rock's trick! I didn't know that.
I often wondered how some guys were zooming in and seeing things I never could.
If your mouse has a scrolling wheel on it, just hold down the CTRL key and turn the wheel; it will zoom either in or out depending on which way you turn the wheel.
Doesn't work for me. You guys must have something else going.
Rick

I'm waiting for pix of Aurora (Ill) Vulcanizing Co. to show up. I have the brass National Cash Register sold new to them in 1911.

WOW! I had no idea about the ol' "ctrl + trick. Thats great!
Could anyone get a read on the year? I zoomed in but it's too fuzzy to read. I'm thinking it's really early in the pneumatic tire business.
It has to be late enough for cars to use tires that big, probably 1900 or later, but early enough that they're still lighting with gas, probably before 1910. Could it be earlier or later? Sure. It's all speculation. I don't see anything in the picture to really pin it down. I do happen to have a very similar roll top desk, with three drawers instead of four, but that doesn't shed any light on the date.
Steve,
I have a desk like the one in the picture too. However, I can tell you with certainty they are not really drawers. They are a door made to look like drawers. Inside is where the printer goes.
