For the T owner who has everything. Will be floored if it goes for that price.
Ill take two. Do you know how many were produced?
No info, no idea. Fun item though. Never seen one like it.
For 4 grand Id like some threads that thread.
If I remember correctly, a few years ago there were reproductions of that cap on the shelf at Lang's. It was priced substantially lower.
Bill
Ive seen originals sell for about 400.00 over the years. There are aluminum reproductions being made by someone if I remember.
Somewhat over my budget.
Apparently worth more than my whole radiator!
Question: will I still need a water pump when using this ornament?
Jerry if you use that radiator cap with a car that has a water pump the engine probably won't start. At 4K you would have to have an armed gaurd when you had T out and about. I think I'd rather have another T project. On the plus side I could fit the radiator cap in my garage without major effort, an another T project would be a major ordeal to find room.
John,
You're most likely correct. I wouldn't have money left for gas. (I do however get your reasoning.)
AWW - That's just pocket change to someone - but not me!
The following is from page 420 of the book
“Friends, Families & Forays: scenes from the life and times of Henry Ford” By Ford Richardson Bryan.
Perhaps the “Bust - Small Plaster” shown at the bottom of the list was the model for the rad cap mold.
Mario Trafeli’s name is on the back of the rad cap version.

He wants four grand for an silly, pot metal radiator cap and he still thinks I should pony up $50 for shipping!
If anyone knows where to find the reproduction version, let me know!
I need a couple for my Ford Memorabilia collection.
I saw this one at Hershey, for only $1750!
The actually casting the Henry bust ornament wouldn't be that hard since it's done in a standard two piece mold like this devil's head that I have done. The hardest part would be setting up to cut the threads. Didn't mean to compare Henry to this guy just the process. Bob
Can anyone make out the writing on the back of Henrys neck? M. Trapeli? Trafeli?
I know where the Brass or Bronze Modle of a T that sat on Henrys desk, it is heavy and good size.
Bob
Ahh Erich - Check my post up the page a little <g>
