I've gotten more help here than anywhere else on the net with my non-T problems so here's my latest quest. A newly bitten old car nut needs a 1918 Briscoe powerplant brought from Rhode Island to Vancouver BC Canada cause the seller will not ship. Anyone have any suggestions or help?

Contact a large antique dealer in the Vancouver area and see how he would get a large item moved across the border.

I bought a unique telescoping table assembly at a sidewalk sale in Detroit. An antique dealer in Keo,Arkansas gave us the name of AB Express which moved it to Dallas promptly and economically.

AB Express does not operate in your area but they might be able to give you a source.

Ted, Thanks a million, that's an approach I never would have thought of. I'll pass it on to Kevin.

Get on the net and hunt freight forwarders. That is something they do and can usually do cheaper than you working directly with a freight line.

It needs to be strapped to a pallet, wrapped in plastic and then shipped via http://www.forwardair.com

Shipping across the country will cost about $200 for that using Forward Air. Call the RI Forward Air office, they will know of a local service that can go pick the engine up and strap it to a pallet. That service will likely cost $200 - $300.

Hi Howard,
Does Kevin have the Briscoe car to put the motor in ? I own a 1917 Briscoe model B424 touring car,the motors are similar. My car was built in Brockville, Ontario, the US models were built in Jackson, Mich.
Briscoe spent a half million dollars in 1916 engineering this engine and advertized their cars as having the half million dollar motor.

Thanks for all the help fellows, I'll check to see if Kevin sees this as he had me remove his contact address from this post. He does own a 1917 Briscoe 4 cylinder with a cracked block and some altered as well as missing parts so this setup would help him in many ways.
