The post on 1913 top bow dimensions got me to thinking, are the dimensions for the 1911 touring the same as the 1913? I am currently restoring a 1911 and will be putting new sockets and bows on it.
The early bodies were not producion bodies and were supplied by different makers to Ford. I just finished a 1912 top and I got measurmeents from 6 different car tops. None were the same. Close, but not the same.
Bodies and as a result, top bows are wider in 1909 - 1912. The bows, sockets and mounting methods evolved constantly during the period.
1913 - 18 top bows - the bent wood portions - are basically the same shape and width.
The sockets and bows came with the bodies if the body was made by a vendor outside of Ford. Hence there are multiple styles of hardware and variations in top sockets even among cars made the same year. For example Beaudette body company might use one type of socket while Fisher Body across town might use a different supplier.

Like Royce says, there are variations! With that warning, here is a set of dimensions:

Keith, Thanks for posting the drawing, for I too need top dimentions for a 1911 touring and also dimentions for a 1910 touring. I agree all tops are different but I would think that when tops became standard equipment in 1910, the bows and irons, regardless of which one of the several manufacturers made them, would have to conform to specific Ford specs. Has anybody done research on early top dimentions at Benson Ford?
Could anyone tell me the measurement from the seat bottom (the upholstered cushion where you sit) to the top bow above it in the roadster?
