I have use these Ford lifters for a number of Over head valve engines. I bought these years ago and have no idea what engine they are intended for but work very out very nice .

Overall length 1.400
Stem ID .499
Base ID 1.00
5/16 ball socket

They have Fo Mo Co cast in them. Anyone know a part number or the application, I need some more.

Look like Y-block Ford to me. 272,292,312. Also the 223 6cylinder motor uses the same lifters.

Y-block lifters have had issues in the past with poor metallurgy. You can check with John Mummert in CA for lifters. He's a Y-block guru and makes a good product.
