Well I bought another project car, By the engine number it is a 22. It'll take some work to get it running. The pictures should show why. I hope to end up with a hearse someday.

I don't know about ending up WITH a hearse, but most of us will end up IN one. :-) :-) Yuk, yuk!!

Seriously - Good luck with your new project!!

The engine was used to pump water at one time and has a nice pulley on the back. The engine turns over so it will be interesting to see how much wear it has.

I have small drum rear axle that is hard to turn, all the parts for a ruxtell axle. Two front axles and one front spring. 3 rear springs, a 7, an 8, and a 9 leaf. I also got fenders and other sheet metal that may be just scrap. along with many other small parts.

It was in a barn and now it is in my small 2 car garage. I have been thinking that I need a shed to keep these parts in to free up the garage. The wheels look good but some have very loose spokes. I will re-spoke all the wheels before I use them. Yes Dan, I have more parts than what I need and may be looking for some trades.

Steven,

Looks like you have a great start on a speedster, depot hack or whatever you would like to make it into. Note, the frame standing up against the lumber/wall and that is painted with the red primer doesn't seem to match the color of the other parts. It looks like a 1926-27 frame. Perhaps it is another project you already had going? But you will have fun sorting out the items and either assembling another car or using the items to keep other cars going. Good luck with your new find.

Respectfully submitted,

Hap,
The frame is part of the package that I bought. It is the only frame other than on my 25 touring that I own. I would like to build a hearse. I know that is strange but it is what I want to do.

It looks better than some of the cars I've resurrected when I started on them.
Besides, you could do worse than to build a hearse!
You should get something like that frame extension that was posted about a month ago!
Congratulations!
Drive carefully, and enjoy Thanksgiving! W2

Hmmm...I don't know, that windshield looks a wee bit later than 22 its for a one mad top.

Why did they disassemble it that much? The running board support irons are missing, unless they're in that pile of parts there.

Reminds me of a 5 rank pipe organ somebody tried to give me once that was totally taken apart (and I do mean TOTALLY) and in two large iso containers.

Steven,

The running board braces may be 1926-27 or the earlier style.

See: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/179374/227297.html?1312137928
That posting has dimensions and also mentions the 1926-27 were a little wider and had two holes near the outer edge of the bracket. That way it would fit the 1926-27 or if the customer had a 1925 or earlier car the mechanic could cut off the outer hole and it would then work for the earlier cars.

If you make a child’s hearse then the standard car chassis would work ok [there are some postings about hearses on the forum – and one of them had a child’s hearse but mounted on a non-Ford chassis if I recall correctly]. But for a regular size hearse I think the TT chassis was the normal one to be selected. After you inventory the parts it looks like you have a mixture from at least two cars and possibly more. You can sort out what year you really want and if you want a TT or T and trade parts to obtain what you finally want to build up. If you decide to go with a TT chassis, they are often available – Model T Haven has one listed now and they almost always have a TT of some type for sale. As you decide what you want to build remember the T fits in a standard garage and a taller TT with a hearse body might require a taller door and longer space to park.

And for future fun/passing on to the family or selling it – if you make the hearse easily converted into a camper – you have two vehicles for a little more than the price of one. Good luck with your project.

Respectfully submitted,

The guy I bought the parts from had been buying parts at swap meets as they came up. He intended to build a run about but bought a working 26 coupe instead. When he realized he would never get around to building the run about I got to buy the parts.
