I still do business with this truck line, now known as "USF Reddaway". These guys go all over the country now.
They drive by night!
Boy, that would be a chilly damp job in the wet winter.
I got the pun Chris. That may even be the same brand of truck used in that movie.
Thanks for the photo Dan.
You bet John...but I have to admit my ignorance on the reference, Chris...grin..
Its a great movie. Lots of good looking trucks, and women.

Daniel, It was an old Humphrey Bogart truck driver movie titled "They drive by night", as Chris Cleverly slipped into his post.
This was their truck.
Ah, Cool! I'll definitely have to see if this one is available somewhere. I checked the Internet Archive but all they have is the UK movie by the same name (but different movie).
I saw this movie quite some time ago on TCM.
Great movie; wasn't George Raft in it too?
Regards,
Steve Boothroyd
It was a good movie. If you can find it, it's worth a watch if you like old trucks.
I was mistaken on the truck brand. I was going from memory and that can be bad in my case.
He actually had top Billing. At that time I guess he was a bigger draw than Bogart.
Danial,
Thanks for the picture!
I like the old gas pump in the left foreground, also.
Back when I was a kid in college in Seattle I knew a girl who was the daughter of the then head of Reddaway. I think his name was Don. Anyway, we got to talking about interests and I was working on my American LaFrance fire engine back then. She said that her dad did some work on an old fire engine. It turns out he had worked on my rig and he had some orignal parts from it!
Small World.
I don't remember her name... but I do remember her dad!
I still think of him whenever I see a Reddaway truck going down the road.
