How do you know when it's been too long since you drove your model T?
When I no longer turn on my left signal when accelerating.
When I stop depressing the clutch pedal 1/2 way on my truck.
When I no longer stomp my left foot on the floor when starting the engine.
Terry:
I had a bigger web than that ran across my doorway to my porch/kitchen deck entrance so I cleared it down at evening time and next morning early it was totally rebuilt. I then cleared it down again and watched and it only took the rascal about an hour to rebuild it. It was incredible how fast that guy could build it. I tore it down again. He rebuilt it again but this time on the other door of the double french doorway that was adjacent. I figured he was a republican and offering a compromise. We had a deal. I left it up for a week and he had a good meal on critters trying to get into my house and I didn't have to walk through his web. I even left the light on inside the house which lit up his side of the double doorway that evening and attracted him some food. When I could see he was gone, I took it back down and he went elsewhere. Fascinating creatures actually. I never realized how fast that garden spider could spin that web. I have trees all over my property and have learned to live with the "critters". They are just trying to get by like the rest of us.
I went out to my modern car the other day and tried to get in the passenger door.
I did that once Doug, only it was getting out. We drove the Model A to breakfast. I got in in the normal fashion, but when we got to the restaurant, she got out on her side, I slid accross and followed her out the door.
I still wish my modern truck had a hand throttle.
