Will the earlier clutch disks work in a 1926-27 transmission? I may have to use the ones that were in this transmission if they don't. The ones that were in it are not in the best of shape but they aren't real bad.

No,they have to be cut so you have proper clearances.
I needed some several years ago. I ground the other four flats on the sides of the 13 discs on my bench grinder. Do it slowly as you don't want to get them too hot. It worked just fine.

You can shear them,but it plays heck on the shear blade.
I think you can buy new ones. Check Lang's or similar.
