There was this little "Cruise Night/ Toy Drive" here in Redlands last Friday night. Alex was bringing his T, a family friend brought out his '62 Jaguar Mk-2, and at the last minute I decided to bring our 1929 Packard 6-45 Touring. Here we are gassing up after the display and we decided to putt 'round town for a while. Alex had the kielbasa cooking on the T's manifold cooker and we all enjoyed a warm snack at the local mall parking lot.
BTW, Alex and I got into a hand crank competition at the show- him on the T and me hand cranking the big Packard 8. I am not going to say who got started first.

As far as I'm concerned, that's exactly what these cars were made to do. Now, if somebody had enough 'disposable income' to build a good ol Drive-in Restruant, complete with 'Car Hops' and everything......

Dennis,
We have such a place here in G.V. Your little "Nash Rambler" would be perfect!
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Nice Packard, but then I've always loved Packards (they have nice sound, I had a 41 110 sedan).

Wayne, I grew up in Fresno in the early 60's. The local Bob's Big Boy was the place to be. I might as well as lived the movie "American Graffiti". My Rambler and my Model T look right at home in the 'historic district' of my little Florida town. It hasn't changed much since the 50's-60's. If I had a little more money, I know just the lot for a Drive-In. It's the one where the old, closed, 'Full Service' Shell Station is right now.

Are there any SPIVEYS drive-ins in the Santa Clara Valley any more. There was one in Campbell
and in Santa Cruz in the 50's and a few more as I recall.

Bob

Back in the 50's around these parts (New England) A&W Root Beer stands were the place to go. Last summer while on a trip to Middlebury, Vermont to look at some antique trucks that were for sale, my wife and I came across a A&W still in business. We had a great meal and a lot of great memories to go with it!

Happy motoring, Warren
