A friend of mine came across this Belly Band in an antique shop and would like a bit more information about it. What would the attachment straps look like and the kind of patent or sales info that Dan Treace will probably have.
The markings say "C.R. BACKUS" ~ "MYSTIC, CT" ~ "JOHNSON PATENT 8,11,17"
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Willard
Found this adv in 1920 Ford Owner & Dealer.
The arm bars strap to the frame bolts and use wing nuts to cinch up the belly strap. A bit more complicated than the typical haning arms.
I opened this thread thinking it was something that would be of use to my wife. She's due in September.
Bede.
Bede, I am glad it is your wife needing the belly support. My wife and myself raised two "Cordes" boys and that was enough.
Willie Cordes
Willie,
Whether we have a boy or girl, hopefully it can keep the then 5th generation of the Fairlie, New Zealand Cordes family interest in Model T's going.
Funny how a uncommon German surname ends up on here on opposite sides of the world isn't it ?
Sorry Willard for hyjacking your thread.
Bede
No problem guys. I did get the exact answer I was seeking.
I think it's quite humorous that someone would look at my title and have it take on quite a different meaning. Best of luck with the new arrival.
