My grandmother showing off her new ride...
Great picture, Don. I am Saginaw native, and also have a 27 Fordor. We live in Grayling now.
Ed, I could have really made a pest of myself if I knew that...couldn't find any wood references for this project of mine. So I winged it, so far its gone together surprisingly well. Someday we'll have to take a tour!
Don, That is a fine looking car for sure. Maybe great grandma is on the porch looking over the new ride and thinking about her first horse and what is the world coming to?? Thanks for posting.
Joe
Joe, looks more like my brother sitting there....well maybe not, that isn't a lazy-boy.
Don,
Because the touring only has two bolts for the body mount, I believe it is probably a 1909 rather than a 1910. You can see the three bolt body mount just below the front of the rear door and back of the front seat.
If you would like to send me a higher resolution copy, I might be able to make out some additional details. For example are the front wheels 30 x 3 or 30 x 3 1/2? I'm not sure, but if the photo shows a split (two piece) lower front seat cushion then it would likely be a Canadian touring body and likely have the 30 x 3 1/2 on both the front and rear wheels. if you would like to send a higher version, please click on my name at the beginning of this or any other posting. That brings up my profile and my e-mail is the third line down.
Again, great photo -- thank you for sharing it.
Respectfully submitted,

Hap,
I'm not finding your email address. I can send you a email but no way to attach a picture on it.
I know my eyesight is bad so I may be missing something...
Don, I am wondering if the picture is from the Bay City area? My Grandmother lived in the same house in the "South End" for almost 70 years...It looks like that area a lot... Sounds like you're working on a truck project? Jim Derocher AuGres, Michigan
Hi Jim,
I'm pretty sure the picture was taken in the Blanchard area, that is where my dad's side lived.
I have a '27 Fordor i'm restoring, my engine is getting rebuilt up in East Jordan. The project is about ready for paint, just trying to find Dupont Centari around here, no one seems to sell it. I hope to have it done in a year or two.
Thx.
My great Grandpa and Grandma showing off the milk jug....not sure what that car is. Has squared corners on the back.
Don,
The car is an Essex.
Jerry, I had no idea. What year would you guess ?
Don, I painted my 1949 Ford F-3 about 6 years ago with Dupont Centari, I bought it at a paint supply shop down in Saginaw. It was just west of Bay Rd. on I believe Shust Rd. maybe.. It was just south of the Fashion Square Mall maybe 2 traffic lights or so...I still have my reciept I think, I will look up the name of the place after work tonight. Jim Derocher AuGres, Michigan
Looks like a 1919. It's unlike most of their tourings and sedans, which had suicide doors in both front and back.

Jim, the place is finishmaster. http://finishmaster.com/
Jim and Ed, I did not check with them and just dropped the bucks for Omni paint. The one step coat stuff. Never painted a car before so this should be interesting if not depressing. But I bought a ton of 1000 grit wet sand...maybe that will be my savior????
maybe not ~~~ The Essex is a impressive car. I'm surprised they're aren't more around.
I think Mother & Dad are standing in front of an Overland, see" The Old Motor" website.
Layden, I believe you hit it on the head with that.
Thx
