At the Museum of Transportation today, there was a car show organized by the brand-new Moon Car Club in St. Louis. The original idea, as I understand it, was to have cars manufactured in St. Louis, such as the Moon, Dorris, St. Louis etc. The scope was expanded at a given moment to include national makes assembled in St. Louis, so there were also a bunch of Chevys and two Model Ts. All the information I have been able to find indicates very strongly that my '24 Touring was put together at the St. Louis Assembly Plant on Forest Park Boulevard at Sarah Street.
In any case, Dave O'Malley from our club was there (with his '13 Touring), as was I. I hadn't realized that I had a water leak when I left home, but I was seeing red on the motometer and it was about 65 degrees outside. Turns out I just had to tighten a couple of hose clamps. Fortunately, Dave had a gallon jug of water, so the problem was quickly solved.
It was a good show, and the Moons and others are interesting cars. Photos are here:

thanks for posting those Dick... enjoyed looking at them...
The card on the blue 1924 Dorris Touring said that it is owned by George Dorris. Not sure whether it's father or son, but it's still neat to have a car that was manufactured by your own grandfather or great-grandfather.
Thanks for sharing the pics, Dick. It's interesting to see the different takes on how an automobile should be built. It seems that everyone had a "better idea" back then.
