I am working on a guys car that has the new 12 volt starter and true-fire. Right now there is no output from the generator. Once I hashed that out and check the cutout (I am not sure at this point what kind it is. I am going to suggest Fun project's if it's need replacing) what should I set the output at?
Thanks

Remember, at 12 volts 8 amps is wide open.
Mark,
The generator output should be no more than 1 - 2 amps with the headlights on regardless of voltage. The True Fire will leave you stranded in the near future. Be ready for that.
As far as True-fire, right now it is only has fire to 3 cylinders. He is new to the Model T world and has been driving it that way. I have suggested we go back to coils. I have not checked the mag output yet as we can only just make the car run and it's a battle. I am doing a cost comparison between repair the True-fire and going back to coils.
Truth is ANY system can leave you stranded if not up to snuff.
1 to 2 amp with head lights on sounds good. That's where I have mine as I drive with my lights on and run on mag.
