Beyond awful I don't know what I would do if the perps were caught.

Ironically there is not a punishment that would be as harsh enough as if some of the "T'R could descend on them and do a number on them. Jail time is not enough , rock breaking and bread and water, and kaining them would be not enough.
Fines nope, paying for the damage would help but not replace the burnt out car.
They if caught should have to wear a sign around their neck say "I DID IT AND I AM PAYING FOR NOW, LOOK AT ME I AM A CRIMINAL"
If I were a "judge it would be hard to decide what kind of things I would deal out to him/them

Now days, the punks probably videoed themselves, they probably will be caught, due to bragging. I just hope the judge is a car guy.

I'd really rather not comment in the internet about what I would do if those were my cars and I found out who did that. Let's just say it would involve a phone call to some old friends who just happen to belong to a very well known motorcycle club.

I'm with Bill on this one.
Sorta like sending a computer virus, or shooting your favorite horse or dog.
The a$%^hole does not get anything from of monetary value from it.
Once in St. Paul some idiot broke in my shop and axed a nice '39 Chev coupe. Every body panel and window, dash seats, etc.
There is no place in society for jerks that do stuff like that.

Ralph, are you serious? That glass is much less valuable than the rest of the damage. Dave

David, Ralph was thinking about the original plate glass still in the car when it got vandalized. Plate glass is infamous for the risk of getting severe cuts from long sharp shards even in a minor collision. Even the thrifty mr Ford spent some dough by pioneering the use of safety glass in cheap mass production for Model A windshields (- that was after the patents had expired, I'd guess :-) )

Ralph, you know what concerns me most about the glass? In this modern day and age, if one of the Punks who went on this illegal, wanton, needless destruction happened to injure themselves on a piece of it, I'm virtually certain they could find some 'ambulance chasing SOB' (lawyer) who could sue the car owner for having an 'unsafe car' or some other legal baloney like that and there would actually be a Judge who would hear the case and a jury who award them damages. Especially if they turned out to be members of some 'poor, underprivileged, minority.

OK, I give up, after a half hour trying to download this thing on dial-up the Edmonton newspaper site is just to graphic oriented. I'll have to read all about it here.
AUGH!!
