As I had mentioned once before I’m a big fan of the one car, car show. Well this time it paid off in a big way. Took a long trip to Atlantic City, NJ yesterday. A nice 130 mile round trip. On the way back I stopped at my local Wal-Mart. I have a habit of parking in the fire lane in front of the store. As I’m walking out of the store I see this white haired lady looking at the T. She seen my 1919 NY tags and said that she was older than my car. She told me she was born in 1915 and that her dad had a car like this one. I asked her if she would like to sit in the car and then she asked if I could give her a ride. Guys, at that point I would had paid her to give this 97 year old lady a ride. With the help of her daughter we got her into the car and away we went. She was holding the top post and holding her out saying this is how she would ride in dads car when she was 5 years old. As I watched her smile and the way she would put her face into the wind I could almost see this 97 woman as a 5 year old child 92 years ago. It almost put me into tears. She couldn’t remember what kind of car her dad had other than it looked like mine. At the end of the ride I gave her my card and told her if she ever wants to go for a day trip let me know and I would be more than happy to do any trip they would like. This was a chance of a life time, I am so happy are paths crossed. I will never forget her as long as I live…This is what the Model T hobby is truly all about.

Great stuff Will. There is nothing quite like the wisdom of age and having the opportunity to do this brings.

There are lots of rewarding aspects of this Model T hobby we all share, but this one has to be the best. Any time I give folks a ride who are old enough to have ridden in T's "in the day", it makes the occasion special for both driver and passenger. There's nothing quite like it, and we all are fortunate to be able to have this opportunity.

Great story, Will. That's what Model T's are all about. It won't be too many years and those "original" Model Ters will be gone....

Doug, Bought a stablizer from Langs, It helped a lot, it took a lot of the dipping and diving out of the front end. I did notice a little play in the steering gear box on the streeing wheel, I'll look into that a little more later when I get back up north. The king pins are still loose but I have the parts to replace them now. I'm going to also wait on this till I get back up north where I have more tools and a garage to work in before I replace them. I'm going to buy the reamer next month. At some point I could use your help putting thoes Hasslers on. I'm hoping this fall to install a Warford transmission and rear disk brakes. Driving in NJ can make your hair stand on end sometimes and I'd really feel a little safer with some better braking.
