My wife and I had the privilege of attending the welcome home ceremony for Raleigh's last Flight of Honor (transporting WW II vets to the memorial in Washington DC). We were so happy to see the tremendous support from the community..not a dry eye in the house. My dad was a Marine in WW II and served in the Pacific. They don't call them the Greatest Generation for nothing. Sad to hear the statistics on how rapidly they are passing away. Hopefully the younger generations will never forget their sacrifices.

I think it was Churchill who said "Never in the history of mankind Have so few done so much for so many". We owe a great debt of gratitude to these great heroes. May their contributions never be forgotten.
