I have asked in the past if anyone has a Phelps hub cap or a good picture of one. They were made of "die cast" so it is possible that none have survived intact. I have some quite "oblique" pictures but that is all. I am going to a Bronze lost wax casting 2 week course in July and figure to make some (as well as some other things). I will proceed with the best information I have and will probably make available a few to other "needy" persons.
Les

John
As they were made from diecast it is not too surprising. Thank you anyway.

Last time I talked to Ed he didn't have anything either.
Rob
Regretably the ones pictured do not appear to resemble the pictures I have. But thank you for your efforts both of you.

Not one of the links opened. I have funny no name hubcap for a wire wheel. Can someone post a link so I can see the sample ? I may just have what you need. I am going to take a picture of my cap and post it later today. It has two little holes in the face and these unlock the latch.

The second one of the patent postings is the type I am working on. The part # 11 is the missing part. At least from this I can now see exactly how Phelps used it and the design purpose (beyond trim). It also shows me what the cross section should look like. It appears that I will have to make a guess as to what the graphics will actually be like. So your posting is very useful and thank you very much

At a past Bakersfield CA Swap Meet there was a touring with a set of Phelps wire wheels. Stuck in my mind as the only original cap example I have ever seen. Does anyone in that area know anything about such car?

Well maybe someone out there will remember where the car is now. Anyway with what I have learned from this posting I now think I can make a really good guess as to what they look like. I think it will be very similar to the one for "Dort" (without the dort of course). I wouldn't be surprised if it had FORD on it (non script of course). The Hex recess makes perfect sense as well. Phelps etc written around the front would have been consistent with the others. Anyway unless I learn otherwise that is what I will make.
Thank you to all who helped.
