seem as though the gentleman who made the reproduction two piece timers is no longer with us. anyone have some dimensions for the special cam nut he supplied?

Stuart, I've purchased a bunch of two piece timers from Howard Caccia and was never supplied with a cam nut. The later cam nuts work fine but you need to Loctite them in place. The nylon nuts sold by the vendors are too thick and can interfere with the dust shield. That's all I know.

If you are referring to to the nut that goes against the timing gear, the early nut listed in Langs' catalog is identical to the nut that comes with the reproduction two piece timer which is identical to the originals I have examined. Langs also sells a nylock nut for the rotor, which is thin like the original.

I bought this one from Chaffins. It was made by Howard and it came with the cam nut and everything else seen in this picture.

My error, I thought we were talking about the nut that secures the rotor.

managed to get a cam nut but not the shim. i could make the shim if i knew the dim's, but still fuzzy as to the assy sequence.

these units are no longer avail according to suppliers.

The dimension is not critical since the only reason for it is to prevent the rotor assembly from wearing into the timer case.
