After the adventure of the fiber timing gear, I expected cleaning shredded fiber out of the engine would be a big deal.
It turned out that most of the debris was just inside the front cover.
There was some in the front of the lower cover, and a little bit in the middle, and that was about it.
I took the outside oil line off to clean it out, and found it clear. While I had it off, I decided to pretty it up just for fun.
Uh Oh, Steve, you went and prettied the oil line up. Now the rest of the T will look tacky in comparison and you will now need to do a total restoration. Should never have done that.
While you have it off replace it with a steel line. Those copper lines can fail at the ferrule. Fortunately I noticed the pool of oil before any damage was done.
I use 1/2" stainless flex line for gas water heater. 30" is about right.
