Nice day here today, so I washed off the dust on my t, and noticed a serious issue with one of my front wheels. Dry rot!!! Now I am left with the question, anyone know where I could get one, or should I just suck it up and buy new spokes? They are expensive to ship to Nova Scotia. Any thoughts?
Just got my 1916's wheels back from Noah Stutzman in Baltic Ohio. UPS shipping wasn't cheap, but was much less than the cost of driving there and back and an overnight stay.
The wheels look great. Brand new hickory spokes and wood felloes, new hub bolts, sanded and primed ready for painting. If you have wood felloes I would send them out. If you have steel felloes, get the hickory spokes from the vendors and use John Regan's wheel press (see FunProjects for details).
who has the cheapest spokes? shipping is going to be a little steep for a couple dozen spokes
Rob, the best price is at Stutzman's Wheel Shop (330)897-1391 Ext 1. They have a reputation for doing good work, too.
Rob from Nova Scotia:
Ford and Moore in Spokane Washington has spokes at $4.50 each. Their phone number is 1-800-327-1469. email address: info@antiqueautoranch.com
Dave, are those kiln dried hickory? KB
Rob,
If you have the original wood fellow non-demountable wheels -- recommend having a wheelwright such as Stutzman or other rebuild your wheel(s). See: http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/118802/135458.html?1271124319
If you have the steel felloe demountable rims that came out in 1919 -- then be sure to order the correct spokes for your felloe.
Respectfully submitted,

Steel felloe, ford, not kelsey hays!!!!
Keith Barrier:
You will have to ask Ford and More. They are some of the best T mechanics anywhere. I suspect they would not be selling any inferior spokes but ask them. 1-509-535-7789.
