I'm sure the topic of factory mis-alignment has come up before but as this example was in front of me I thought I would share it.
The upper panel is the rear window panel on my 22 coupe and the lower is the panel above the turtle deck. the gap between varies and a cutout has been made on the right side to allow it to fit. I have found several differences in panels left to right as much as 1/8".
When the wood kits or the upholstery kits don't fit we can't blame the vendors as Ford wasn't that accurate. Usually the if the kits are off they go a little larger so you can trim to fit. This gap is covered with a 3/4 aluminum moulding so it doesn't show. When I built the body for my '25 Tudor there were a lot of panels that overlapped each other and had room for adjustment.
