Just kidding, but there is supposed to be about 24 pages dedicated to "that other car" (for comparison purposes)

Bruce did quite an extensive article in the May-June 1985 issue of The Vintage Ford on the Chevrolet and if I remember correctly copped a bit of stick for having done so. Regards, JP.

I still say that the non-Ford information gives us perspective and appreciation for the T's.

Richard,
I agree. There are reasons the Model T ran away from the competition, creating it's own market early, then held on to market share due to mass production and other reasons.

I'd like to see comparisons based on price, specs and numbers sold of competitors.

What John, Richard and Rob say above is all true.

Ford succeeded because he had the right product at the right time, plus he had the dealership structure coupled with effective marketing and the financial ability to do it all. The others tried but didn't have all of the elements needed as Ford did.

This could be the topic for a nice magazine article.

Nor did competitors. Henry Ford had the desire, knowledge and ability. Timing was the variable that worked in his favor.

The article is fascinating and gives a good explanation of why Henry was forced to develop the A and early V8. When Henry let his stubborn nature rule, Chevrolet under the direction of William Knudsen pounced on the opportunity! Bruce's research was, as expected, was very objective and complete.
