Has anyone had to shorten the shaft that goes to the rear when installing a left side Ruckstell shift kit.

I shortened a TT Truck Ruckstell shaft to work on my touring. As best I remember it was 2 piece and I cut off one tube and pinned it to the other with a roll pin. There was an existing solid piece at the joint which made it simple.

You should be able to do something similar, or saw it off and make a new clevis, or just make one from scratch with a length of 1/2 inch EMT conduit.

The Ruckstell shift kit is long so it can be used on T or TT. You always have to cut it off for a T installation.
