I just got a good set of Dayton wire wheels and hubs for the speedster project. I would like to know if there is a source for new pokes (in case I need some) and what is the correct size tire? Thanks for any help.

Contact the company.

I think they work on old wheels.

This company makes spokes for all wire wheels, including Daytons. They have spokes and nipples. Dayton clincher wires use two different size of spokes.

If your wheels are clinchers, they probably take standard 30 x 3 1/2 tires. Dayton did make other size pin drive wheels but they are rare.

The set of five that very recently sold on Ebay had 20" straight side rims with lock rings

They also made 20" clinchers to take motorcycle tires for racing, 22" clinchers for 28x3 tires ( Noel Bullock ran a set of these up Pikes Peak), and 24" clinchers so you could still use your 30x3 tires on the front!
