From a non-Ford discussion forum today. Comment was that this T sold for $5,000. That's all I know.

Apparently somebody got carried away in the excitement of bidding. I wonder if there's an engine with it.

Unless there's a fresh rebuilt engine strapped to a pallet waiting to be installed. A fellow never knows. :-)

That's a fairly cumbersome wheel chock.

At first glance it seems pretty pricey! Is that rear end in front a Ruckstell, looks like a shifter but can't tell for sure. Body looks straight and rust free, almost shiney if the dust was washed off. From what I can see of the seats they look good. May just need an engine and radiator and top. If that is a Ruckstell and it's as straight as it appears it my not be that far out of line.

There is a Ruckstell with a long nose shifter there in front of the car. The pan is in it with fairly recent gasket goop on it, the engine is probably there, the tires look good, the body looks nice. Looks like it was a good buy to me.

Time for me to vent...

It seems that a lot of T owners want to tell others how to spend their money and what "they" think the car is worth. I don't believe that anyone ask you for a loan or for your opinion of the cars value is. If someone wants to spend THEIR hard earned money then it is their business and if the purchase of the car brings them happiness then I say great!
And no I did not buy the car nor do I know who did.

Finding one that is anywhere close to what you are looking for and the location is anywhere close to where you want it to be means a LOT to me too. That can have a lot to do with the final price. JMHO. Dave

Dennis Seth:

Very well said.

The Ruckstell alone is worth way over a grand.
It has hasslers worth a couple of hundred.
Good looking fenders,
Very good looking body.
The wheels and rims look like they may be good.
Good looking seats
Complete windshield
A motor is not that big of a deal, I have bought COMPLETE MOTORS for as little as 12.00 at auctions.

If the wood is good, it will be an easy restoration, I would say its a GOOD BUY. Where would you get a better car for the same amount of money? Take a closer look.

Norweigen Twins

Dave and Dennis I respectfully disagree. Stan and I both thought it was probably an ok buy and no one else said anything that was disrespectful or derogatory. As long as people are civil discussing the pros and cons of what a T or T parts are worth it can be beneficial for anyone who is buying or selling. Dave you just agreed with Dennis and then proceeded to say what you thought it was worth. I know there are people on this forum who have little regard for anyone else's view and get downright rude, but that hasn't happened here. I bought a 1915 roadster last year. The rear fenders are not correct, the mag doesn't work and the paint is crappy. I paid way to much for it. That being said it was the first Model T I ever drove, it was my dad's favorite T and when he sold it 25 years ago I couldn't afford to buy it. It came up for sale from the guy my dad sold it to and I was tickled to death to be able to get it at any price. I agree with Dennis that what someone pays for something is their business, and like in my case there are reasons we sometimes don't see, but as long as the discussion stays polite there is no reason not to discuss.

Some of this discussion leads to why I think appraisals should always be given in a range, not a definitive price.
Some might say, when I got my coupe, I may have paid a bit much for it. The upholstery is nice enough, but it is not correct. The paint looks good from a distance, but will need to be redone eventually. I think the price was right. The brakes it had, the Ruckstell, the Rocky Mountain Six Speed, the proper vintage pressure fuel hand pump, all perfect for the mountainous area I live in. For me, it was the perfect car at the right time. I love my coupe. Thank you again, Bob.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Also . . . while some people like their car as pretty as possible, others are searching long and hard for that treasure that has been hibernating in a barn for decades. This car most likely fits the latter description, but one can only hope that it came with the missing pieces not shown in the photo.

I have a feeling that the body on that touring is at least 85% good. Not much body work if any. The sheet metal is real solid. I bet the wood is too.
No sags on the door either.
A solid car.
