During my current ebay binge, I've discovered a small pile of T parts. Included in the pile are a stack of fan blades. The first in the stack has T8869 written on it. Are these T fan blades or should I try elsewhere?
The Ford numbers are 3960 (1909-1920) and 3961C (1920-1927). There are pretty good pictures of them on Page 132 in the parts section of the encyclopedia (disk version). Also Page 28 in the 1928 parts book everybody has.
3960 and 3961C are the Parts Book numbers for the fan assemblies. The number Ford actually put on the parts is the Factory Number (also usually listed in the Parts Books). The Factory Number is the number on the drawing for that part.
What confuses things more is the assembly has a drawing number, too, but individual parts have their own numbers which is what you would see. It is possible the T8869 number is the number for the individual fan blade or the fan hub, depending on where the number is.
The parts book lists factory numbers as well as part numbers. None of the fans or fan parts shown has 8869 as a factory number.
