Last Easter along with some other members we took a 400 mile trip west of Sydney to meet up with the Outback Model T Club for a weekend tour in our T's.

On the way home we stopped at one of the members houses to check out his "junk" and on the wall in his shed was a brass radiator surround.

On the bottom was a name stamped into it REX.
The owner was told it came of a Rex branded Spurous Model T Ford made in England.

Such spurous T's were in Australia where they were sold as other brands but were actually Fords with all traces of the Ford name removed. They were allowed to do this after a judge ruled that if there was no Ford name it was OK to sell as another brand. Most of these used a radiator shell similar in shape to the Rex or like a Rolls Royce which is probably what they were copying.

One thought was that it could be an accessory shell because of the placing of the name on the bottom of the shell made such as like the "Livingston" or Liberty shell both made in New York state by Livingston radiator Corp and the Motor Truck Radiator Mgf Co.

Until our super detective Mark Herdman found this brochure which Autolit.com has for sale.

This Rex does not have a radiator shell like the Rex one it uses the normal Ford surround but as they were also an accessory maybe you could add one as well. The company also made a rumble seat conversion for cars. Interesting they were in Indiana where a lot of cars were manufactured as we saw when on the Centenial tour in 2008.

Does anyone happen to be lucky enough to own one of these bodied Model T's or have any more information on them?
The Rex was supposed to be an English version and 2 cars were made there with Rex names Rex in Birmingham England from 1901 to 1911 and a Rex Simplex of about the same era.

Another identifying feature of a true OZ T-Rex is a pair of very short spindle arms.

Evan, That is very hilarious.

Also, the teeth on the large time gear must be simply wicked.
