Completed the first oil change on my "T" this afternoon. Also removed pan to install new gasket because of leaks. Still has some at a few bolts. Saw a post on how to cure this on earlier post. Will look back. The big surprise was finding no buildup in bottom of pan. It wiped clean with a shop rag. May have to tighten bolts after running some.

Also found a 1915 "T" brass radiator complete that has never been used or polished. Came from brother of Ford Dealer and artist that passed. Not flat tube but considerably better in appearance that one on "T". Has "MADE IN USA" under Ford logo and Ford Logo and serial number 247706 on back panel. Price was well below current catalog prices. In addition purchased an original brass air pump with Ford logo on foot bracket.

Thanks to this forum I am becoming more familiar with my "T". Many posting has pointed me in the right direction. With rebuilt coils and Holley NH card I just rebuild with new spray needle and valve and float valve assembly I can start it reliably with 1 choke pull and no more than 2 start pulls on battery. Getting ready for a summer of fun in the "LAY". Woman of house gave it the name.

Welcome Sam. So sorry to hear of your new addiction. Better just try and make the best of it. Can't tell you all the therapeutic value you will receive from a simple drive in your T. Congratulations.

What was the story behind the name?

Blame it on a 73 year old that has fingers that do not go right at time. It is called "LADY". some old F*** forgot the "D" for the "T". And I am addicted. Has this old boy toy since January and have driven it three times so far.

OOOOHH Sam, this is very horrible. That little car is awesome looking. You are going to have to get insurance coverage for plastic surgery to repair the great big grin that will be part of your face very soon. It gets worse with every drive. Good luck and happy T-ing.

Great looking "Lady". I am sure a long line would form if you needed to give her away.

To bad you didn't get "007", but then you can say this is the car James Bond drove when he was just "005".

The big grin is found in Lexington, KY. Had this "Old Man's Toy since January 20 this year.

Has been total fun cleaning, tuning and just getting to know Model T's.

We are trying to keep it as original as possible and still enjoy driving her. Good thing is whatever I change will be able to be returned to original. Have added turning signals and brake lights (home made signal controls). Have moved the spares to the rear anticipating an original T toolbox to install.

Not looking to be a show car just part of history to let others see and marvel at.

Looking at disc brakes for rear with the traffic we have in town.

Thanks for comments on T. Knew the first time I saw her she would me mine. It is a 1916, VIN 1265512, built on May 26, 1916. I am owner number 5. This jewel sat in a barn in Pekin, IN from 1916 to 1961. It was restored by Paul Isgrigg of Columbus, IN. I have copies of Title of all but original owner. It has the original 1916 IN plate.
Plan on polishing and installing new radiator today weather permitting.

PS. It may be confusing in the above two threads, but Royce convinced me to use the "Right Stuff", instead of "Ultra Black" in the assembly of my engine, because the "Right Stuff" is much more impervious to oil, while the "Ultra Black", is less so. A decision that I do not regret. Jim Patrick
