Two questions; the first may be simple (or not!)
1) Was there a "notch" in the front bow windshield seal flap to clear the windshield wiper?
2) Top bow question. Do the bows all line up when folded (on top of each other), or is the center one slightly narrower? And if it is, anyone know why? (OK, that's a third question). This comes up because we have two set of fair shape original bows, and the center one is slightly narrower than the rear and front bow. It might just be a quality control thing, or on purpose??

Bump,
I can't believe I've had no answers from the group yet!
Dave: I'll chime in. My top from Classtique has no notch for the wiper. My top bows are different widths but they do stack well when down. The front bow is the widest one. Bill
My 1920 roadster does not have a notch in the seal flap....it just passes over the wiper shaft.
The bows are all the same approx. length, but the top including bows are not original equipment as many cars of this age most likely have been modified with replacement parts.
I have the notch above my w/shield on my 27 Touring. Maybe the last top done by Carters cut and cover. It is for the wiper arm.Don't know about the bows when down, they have always been up on my car. I recently got an interior kit for my 22 coupe from Classtique, and it is as good as they get for fit and finish
The center bow measures 47 3/4 across where the curve and wood insert begin. The rear bow measures 48 1/4 across at the same location. Ford drilled all windshields for the wiper and the rearview mirror in 1925, whether you wanted those options or not. To my knowledge, the flap was never modified for the wiper from the factory.
