The other day my wife drove our 97 F150 to work.
I knew it had a bad plug wire but I figured she wouldn't have any problem, just a little skip every now and then.
When she arrived home, she informed me that I needed to clean the "timer" on our "F150".
Well at least she's paying attention.
The main problem that I'm having on the F150 is that whenever I advance the spark, my left signal starts flashing????
You've got a keeper there Michael. They do pay attention. Mine watched a guy crank on his Model A for about 3 minutes with nothing happening. She asked him "did you turn the gas on?" His face got about as red as it gets.

Hi Michael
Re: Bad plug wire - F150
Not sure on the 4.6, but the 5.4 engines are all coil on plug.
When mine developed a miss the code reader indicated #4 cylinder (back plug - passenger side)
Put in all new plugs(3 to 4 hours) and on a hunch I swapped #4 coil with #2 coil while I was at it.
Fired it up and code reader indicated #2 cylinder was now the culprit. New coil for #2 and all's well.
Cylinder order (front to back) 1 thru 4 on passenger side, 5 thru 8 on drivers side.
Dealer here wanted 2 hours minimum, probably more now (plugs and labor estimate then was $225.00)
If you plan to do it yourself, you need nimble fingers and patience, and # 4 and 8 are the toughest.
I can give you some tips if needed (if)when the time comes.

A separate coil for each plug? What will they think of next?
Maybe a camshaft position sensor to fire the coil!
What?? - Oh OK So they have done that as well.
Imagine that! <@^@>
Next thing he's gonna tell us is that he keeps changing direction when he uses the throttle lever !
Regards all,
