I'm trying to assemble a big drum Ruckstell rear axle for my '26 Touring (see my profile).

One of the last pieces I need to make it right, is the correct I.D. tag that was used on the big drum units. It is not available through the vendors as far as I know.

In case you don't know exactly what it looks like, it's a little taller the the earlier type. It also has beveled corners instead of the squared corners on the ones currently being reproduced.

I don't need one that's mint, unused, never-seen-the-light-of-day but, if you have one that's still readable and hasn't been used as an anvil sometime in it's life and you can part with it, please, let me know.

Thanks folks. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely, Mike.

Maybe you could have one made, people do that sort of thing.

Jim

These were used on some of the late small drums too. These housings were made after Ruckstell changed to Eaton for manufacturing. The nice thing about the later small drum housings, is they must have contracted with Ford somehow to get the backing plates, because they do say Ford on them, and they have the removable cam bushing, which the earlier versions don't.

Jim,

Yes, that's the one. Thanks for posting the photo.

Now to find one that isn't still riveted to the housing. I would have posted this on the classified section but I've got a sneaking suspicion that there may be a warehouse in London full of them. <grin>

Thanks Again, Mike.

I'll look and see if I can find one for you. I usually just throw them away when I pull them off. The rebuild buyers want a new tag on the one they get so I put a new tag on all of them.

Thought I'd give it one last bump.
