Would you know where that picture was taken? That car looks similar to a 21-22, but has different lights, hood, and radiator.
Norm
It's a 1915.
Great photo Garnet –
Now that’s one serious look – Just what was he thinking? 20, 30 even 40 miles an hour!
Video games were all in your head back then.

Ok You guys really amaze me how you know this stuff so well. Kudos to you.
What are the rods under the car ? they are too low for brakes aren't they?
What about brand of shocks and extra headlights ?
Looking Fwd to the answers.
I know you guys will blow me away.
Looks like a 15 body but has the earlier steering column.
Jerry
The rods are for running board support, standard on early T's.
My question is-what is bolted to the center of the front axle ?
Bob
What are the brackets on the front axle? Anti-sway device mounting bracket??? Also, if the young lad doesn't put some air in his front tire, his expression may be changed for the worse!!!
I wouldn't be surprised if the original brass radiator and '15 hood former were still there, hiding under the aftermarket radiator shell and hood. By 1915, brass was no longer stylish. Most makes ditched brass after 1912.
Nice picture. Anyone catch the early front fenders no duck bills (did I say that right?) I should do this to my car. polishing brass was fun but 10 years later I'm tired.
It appears that photo was used for this body kit ad.
John
My guess is that it's a very early '15 with some holdover '14 parts, such as the 4-rivet front fenders, steering column with 2-piece gearbox & brass quadrant, and fork-mounted headlights. That kit really "modernizes" the car.
Great picture Garnet! This car is loaded with accessories. The radiator shell is certainly an accessory, and I keep looking at the radiator filler and cap that are oversized. Makes me wonder if the whole radiator is after market (which I can't imagine), or if the factory radiator filler neck and cap are under the oversized filler neck and cap that is visible in the picture. (???)
I logged many miles in my neighbors parked 29 model A as a boy... dreams are what brought me to my first model T, 52 years ago! You gotta love it!
But the most interesting thing is the upholstery. It appears to be diamond tufted in leather. I agree that that it has many characteristics of a pre 15 car.
Alan
As usual Garnie, you come up with the best pictures. Thanks. It sure is an interesting car, especially the top boot. The headlights kinda look like the ones they used on the sedans.
When I first saw the photo, I thought it was a Non-Ford. But then when I saw that advertisement, it came to sense.
The cowl also said it was a T in my brain.
I was going to say early '15 because of the fork mounted headlights.
Thanks for that advertisement John! Where do you come up with this stuff? Keep it up. Dave
The interesting thing in the advertisement is the same shocks, front and rear and no mention of them in the text.
