Ever happen to you? Got this in an email:
Your Brain Develops the Negative
Instructions:
1. Stare at the red dot on the woman's nose for 30 seconds.
2. Turn your eyes to a plain surface (your ceiling or blank wall).
3. Blink repeatedly and quickly. Tell me - is that the coolest thing?
-----------------------
This explains what happened when you looked at the negative.
Interesting. Could explain why once in a while while driving a car you're suddenly surprised by something. After seeing this you see why you sure need to keep looking/scanning all the area you're driving in.
Motion Induced Blindness
This is frightening! It works exactly like it says, and is one major reason people in cars can look right at you (when you're on a motorcycle or bicycle)---AND NOT SEE YOU.
From a former Naval Aviator: This is a great illustration of what we were taught about scanning outside the cockpit when I went through training back in the '50s. We were told to scan the horizon for a short distance, stop momentarily, and repeat the process. I can remember being told why this was the most effective technique to locate other aircraft. It was emphasized (repeatedly) to NOT fix your gaze for more than a couple of seconds on any single object.
The instructors, some of whom were WWII veterans with years of experience, instructed us to continually "keep our eyes moving and our head on a swivel" because this was the best way to survive, not only in combat, but from peacetime hazards (like a midair collision) as well.
We basically had to take the advice on faith (until we could experience for ourselves) because the technology to demonstrate it didn't exist at that time.

Where did the color come from?
John the opposite of blue is orange The opposite of red is green and the opposite of yellow is purple.
The negative was a lavenderish color and it's opposite is a flesh tone. The girl's hair is white in the negative so it is black in the positive I reversed the lady in Photoshop and here she is. The logo on her pocket is a blue green in the negative and reddish maroon on my positive.
There's thirty seconds I can never get back. Are there no I Love Lucy reruns on tonight Ralph?
