Wonderful.
Although they obviously posed for the photo, from the look of them there is little doubt that they actually traveled on that motorcycle!
Great photo!!
They sure look like rough kids, any chance they might be a young version of machine gun Kelly
Will, Here's their story.
Wow all that way and no nintendo or mommy. Tough kids!
Thanks for posting
How ya gona keep em down on the farm after all this.
Did I say rough, I should had said tough has nails and smart as hell. I couldn’t ever imagine a couple of kids that age in that time with almost no roads and communication make a trip like that not once but twice. If someone asked me to let my kids do a trip like that even back then I would had told them they were nuts, not for no money. I cant even think of what those two little kids had to endure along the way with no grown up to help them. I’d like to see there story. How did they find fuel, parts, food, a roof to sleep under. Did they ever get robbed? How did they find there way to the different places? They must of had to carry cash. Can you imagine what would happen today if someone let there kids that age do something like that today? They would be locked up and the kids would be in foster care or worse.
Did a mapquest search for 1268 rhode island aveune, Detroit, MI and it wasnt found. Guess I wont be getting any info on the Model E Brush. Was looking foward to them sending me a price list!
All I could think of was:
"my daddy was a pistol and I'm a son of a gun!"
Kids were tougher, smarter and more resourceful than today. That's for sure.
Very impressive, tough for sure!
Like I was telling Bill in an earlier post, you can't beat an Indian motorcycle, unless of coarse you own a Henderson Model F or KJ!
Happy motoring, Warren
