Need a new Model T engine?
Not just a new—but better than new. This is a complete engine and transmission with starter, generator, manifolds and carburetor.
Ready to “drop in” and travel cross country.
The members of the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque, under the direction of Larry Azevedo, a master engine builder and machinist, have built an engine that is being raffled. The value of the engine is in excess of $4,000.
The engine is being delivered to the Model T Museum in Richmond, Indiana
Sunday, May 20, 2012 by Neil O’Brien and will be on display.
Tickets are a mere $10 each. You do not need to be present to claim the prize.
The winner is responsible for picking up the engine.
Details: The block is a 1923 Canadian engine, serial number C445141. The engine has been re-babbitted, bored to 30 over, has new aluminum pistons, oil slingers, inside and outside oil lines, and rebuilt magneto. Complete rebuilt transmission has been balanced and has Kevlar bands, and a newly rebuilt generator, starter and carburetor. It is painted and even has a fan installed. It has been run-in for 7 hours on a test stand.
To purchase raffle tickets, make check payable to

All proceeds benefit the Model T Museum.
Thank you for supporting the new museum.
Good luck on the drawing!
P.S. What a great Father’s Day gift! (or birthday or ‘just because’)
Are Canadians allowed to buy tickets to this?
Absolutely! Just remember that the winner must pick up the engine from the Model T Museum.
Barbara:
Spread the word to our chapter members..... and then some more.
Great fund raiser for the Museum !!

Oil slingers AND a rebuilt magneto?
Probably dippers, not slingers.
USPS money orders ok?
I am sure money orders ok. Thanks for your interest. Good luck in the raffle!
Too bad delivery to Hershey wasn't also an option Just thinkin out loud.
I'll bring it up at the Sacramento Valley Model T Ford Club and to the California Capitol T's (MTFCI).
Thank's to Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque!!
If one did in fact win the engine, I'm sure it's worth a trip to the new Museum...... our Model T Museum ! There's a lot to do in the Richmond, Indiana area. We spent three days in Richmond last November before we went to Ohio for a surprise anniversary party in a Cincinnati suburb.... then hightailed it back to New Jersey.
Hmm, that would be about $350 in gas for me.....completely worth it though. Are you allowed to purchase more than one ticket? Plus, as an added bonus, i'd get to see new states. It's kind of sad really: i've been in more foreign countries than I have states in the US.
Barbara,
Don't really want to rain on your parade but did you know that raffles are a form of gambling is heavily regulated if it's allowed at all. Each state has different requirements for a gambling license and each state has different requirements on who and how a raffle is conducted. An unlicensed interstate raffle is definitely not allowed. You may want to check with the state gambling commission of each state where you want to sell tickets.
It also seems that tickets and/or payment for tickets cannot be mailed.
Check it out.
Jim
Donate $10. Or $50.
In some states, that works.
Jim,
Thanks for that advice. I will pass it on to the Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque. They are conducting the raffle. Perhaps it should be a donation. I am simply trying to give everyone a chance to win the engine.
The Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque are donating the proceeds to the Model T Museum.
And yes, a person can buy as many tickets as they wish. Thanks again.
Bump
Is there no way we can have the engine shipped ?
I bet you could get a much bigger responce if that could happen.
By the way it would be up to the winner for shipping of course ! If so I AM IN
Made my 'Donation' of $20.00 . . I'll have it shipped, even have a buyer for the engine this will replace when I win it . .. . haven't seen the $$ yet, but . . great incentive to assist the museum. THANKS Tin Lizzies of Albuquerque!!
Bump . . keep the interest going for our Museum!!
I have received word that the raffle engine has arrived safely in Indiana will be unloaded soon if it has not already been unloaded.
I agree with Jerry --
Having a method to ship the motor (at the winner's expense) would certainly add to people's participation.
It cost me about $40 to have a 850 KW generator shipped from Michigan to NH and about the same for a range from Indiana with power tail gate delivery.
I guess it would not cost more than a few hundred to do the same with a motor.
I would love to spend a bit on some raffle tickets for a T motor but getting it would be a problem if I won.
If you wish to donate to the Museum for a chance on the Engine and don't need it you could donate it back to them and it could be sold with the proceeds going the museum. Being a winner both ways.
Bob
Thank you guys for supporting me.. I have been watching this and wondering if we could do something for those of us not willing to drive accross the country but are willing to pay for delivery. It is on a pallet anyways..
Jerry You're right!
I'm in for some tickets as well. Someone will get a nice engine, hopefully here on the Left Coast!
Gene - Your on the "wrong coast"..
I'm on the right coast!
Gene and Fred,
If you were both facing South, the 2 of you would be on each others coast.Just kidding.
Scott
Only a Canadian would think like that!
My wife always says I'm lost all the time anyway cause I always do what the Garmin Gal says instead of where the wife says to go. You know who wins that argument...
Gene, I am younger than a few on here but have been married long enough to know the correct answer to what she says whether you agree or not and the answer is " YES DEAR " :-)
47 years and counting . . I learned in the very early days in the life of wedded bliss to say "Yes Dear", I'm Sorry", and "You're Right". They can be said in any order, by themselves or choose any two that fit. Seems to be working so far. . .;p))

Engine arriving at the Museum.
Neil O'Brien, in foreground, delivered the engine from ABQ.
I apologize, I don't know who the fellow is behind the crate.
That's a good looking engine.
Darin
If by chance I don't win it . I would be more then happy to help in any way with delivery . Motor would not exactly arrive as nice as in pictures above , but it would still be a motor ..
I think it's a great cause but I have a question, with all the blocks that have USA on them, why did they choose to use a Canadian block?
US entrants only, or can Canadians also get in on the draw?
Is there a way to pay online..paypal maybe?
Here is yet another guy that would buy tickets if the engine could be shipped...
Mark;
A Canadian engine/trans was used because that was what we were given.
Chris;
By all means, US and CD entrants are eligible.
Brian;
Currently online payment is not available.
See below threads for payment info.
John;
Engine can be shipped.

I meant Canada when I used 'CD'.
In last sentence of previous post 'all' should be omitted.
Thanks for your comments and interest.
If the club would set up a PayPal means of payment money would be flooding in I think.......
I sent a check to Albuquerque in May. I received my tickets, but no one has cashed the check yet?
I would prefer they cash the check now and give the funds to the museum.
Thank you.
Dave
Larry and our club treasurer reside on opposite sides of the Albuquerque metro area.
Thank you for your participation and patience.
