" By Carrie Jones

With electric vehicle technology becoming more desirable to the average consumer, Ford applied its innovative design sense to the two-wheel market and created the E-Bike concept vehicle.

Unveiled at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, this sleek, cross-gender bike is powered not with gas, but by a lithium-ion battery. The drive system is subtly embedded in the 5.5-pound aluminium-and-carbon construction frame for a cool, minimalist look—perfect for the energy (and image) conscious city commuter...."

We repair E bikes from time to time. If you ever rode one you'd appreciate them. I'd love to have one. Some now learn your pedaling characteristics. See a hill if will provide the difference. A real kick and pretty good range. Some even have cruise control. We have an E bike and an electric tricycle in the shop as I write this.

I'll stick with my bicycle, but I would like to have a high wheel. :-)

Stephen, had a friend that use to race high wheelers. He said everyone takes the spoon brake off. Pick up a pebble under that spoon and it's over the handle bars. I'd like to try one.

I think it would look better with wooden spoked wheels and clinchers.

I have not figured out how the magneto is arranged yet either.

Mike,

I've driven a high wheeler several times. It's like riding a roller coaster, terrifying while you're doing it and fun, once you've gotten off.
(I've heard other things described that way too, but that's for another forum...)

I quit before I fell, which I would definitely have done if I kept it up.
