Need all info I can get to put top on car. Measurement from back of seat to side for brackets and to next seat to bracket. What does bracket look like and where does it mount in seat? How far apart are the bracket holes to where the top irons go from one side of seat to other? How does top back mount to back of seat?1910 Tourabout

This pic shows the irons placed in a new front seat for a '09 mother in law, would be similar for the tourabout rear seat.

I used the larger head 'step' bolts instead of normal small head carriage bolts to go thru the wood seat back.

top prop iron for the saddle is wrong

Here is the correct top saddle iron for when the top is at rest.

The oldest top kit I can find is 1914 touring. Is this the same or different? I will try to find used parts or make all the hardware I can to save money. Any tips and measurements I can get will help. This car is not correct so what will substitute would be good info also.
Thanks for all the help.

Royce, The 09 pictures look like my back yard? That was a very nice restored original car instead of new car around an original engine!

Austin,
One thing in your favor. Many of the tourabouts were originally sold without a top. Many owners would soon thereafter buy and install an "after-market" top. Since there were many suppliers of such tops, there was a lot of variation in them. I would recommend trying to emulate a 1909/10 touring top just because they look more right on a tourabout. That includes putting the "dog-leg" into the low end of the iron. But that is not hard to do before the top is finished. It is very hard to go back and do later when you realize how much better it would look.
Nice car, I often wish I were doing one like it.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2
