That front plate is made for generator blocks.

The gasket surface will fit both generator and non-generator engines. Most of these are one or the other but this one is both.

Thanks for the info now I know this will fit most Ts
I have had two offers for $375 and one for $200. I did not say this was for sale, I might use it on one of my Ts. I have seen just the cover for sale at $375, and mags at $200+. this one also has the gear. Bob

Very unusual.
Magnetos like that one vary in price quite a bit. That one appears a bit in need of work. I still see those at swap meets for under $50. In nice rebuilt condition, I have seen them sell for a couple hundred.
The more common drives like Matco and others for which new gears are available tend to be more valuable than some of the others. But most of them seem to reach $400 to $500 and sometimes up on eBad if they are in good condition. I wish they were cheaper, I could really use a couple.
Drive carefully, and enjoy, W2

Get the magneto restored and operational before you go to all the trouble to bolt the other parts on your engine.

Here is a photo of an American Bosch Mag that still works.

The mag condition is not real important as DU4 Mag's are pretty common. It is a Columbo mag drive and if the gears are no good DMC gears can provide them. I think my set was 175 dollars. The oil caps are usually gone but you have one. Price is what someone will pay, I'd say 300-500.
