I just got a new iPad as a birthday gift. I am working away from home so the forum helps pass the time when away from my family. I cannot upload the pictures I have taken that
I would like to share. Help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance.
Warwick.
Hello Warwick
I have been looking into this problem as well. I have found a couple of topics on the Apple discussions forum saying that Safari cannot upload photo's to websites. Some say the solution is to download another app that allows the image upload. I have not tried any of these app's so I cannot comment on there function.

I have had to use a desktop/laptop to upload the photo's. If I have only the iPad available I would have to put the photo's on a server (photobucket, flickr, tinypic, etc) somewhere else and have a link to them like a website link.
The problem with linking to external photo's, if you remove the photo the link will no longer work. So when we do a forum topic search in years to come it will loose its relevance if we reference the photo in some way.
I hope this makes sense. I am an IT Support Officer (just another name for help desk) an I end up talking technical jargon and confuse the issues more then I help.
I always had to download the pics to my lap top and then download them. The "browse" function isn't available on the "upload attachment" function.
I asked the same question on the forum a few months ago. There were several suggestions to use other sites to upload to (from the iPad) and then load to the forum, however my lack of computer skill (want me to fix your T, the answer is NO ) prevented it from working.
It would be great to be able (simple way) to upload directly from iPad/iPhone etc directly to the forum. Maybe there is a way to send directly to the MTFCA site and then select from a photo archive to load on the forum (shows what I know about servers, hosts, etc etc).

From my iPad with no pics
I bought iCab, and have no idea what I'm doing (not surprised).
Now I'm going to get the manual typewriter out do a little work..............

From my iPad that won't load pics
I'm to the point where I am able to load from my camera roll (iPad) to the "select file" button. HoweveR, the discussion thread said to switch browsers (using iCabMobile) to type in a fake URL. However, I am unable to type into the file address. This is the discussion thread I used to get this far. I have tried all the default browsers to try to edit the address.

Help!

From my iPad (for sale)
Rob (disclamer) I am not a geek. I have an iPad and have studied file transfers mostly on the iPad 2 forum. I do not think it is possible to post a picture here from iPad.
This forum only accepts pictures stored on your hard drive.See "formatting" The iPad will not allow anything on it to be directly uploaded to a website, and this site will not allow anything from a third party -like photo bucket.
Also the iPad will upload to a site that has an iPad app very easily. This site doesn't.

If you find a way let me know.

This is the error screen I get after loading the file name from my iPad to the "select file" button. I think if I could type in a fake URL it would work, but the iPad virtual keypad doesn't appear to allow typing/changing the file name.

If your iPhone, iPad or iWhatever supports HTML forms and an accessible file structure it will work. If it doesn't, it won't--Simple as that.
Your best alternative is to email the pics to someone and have them post the pictures. Or load them to a photo storage site and link to them.
Or sit back and wait for this software to be changed just for you and your iWhatsit. Or do like everyone else and use a PC. Or wait for Windows 8 and dump that iCrapOS for real software.
It wasn't that long ago that we all had to take pictures, wait for developing, scan the pictures then post.
Rob,Great pics. Looks like you can link photo bucket from the iPad.
I use my iPad for touring in my model A to find hotels, restaurants, map routes, and check the weather radar, but it is not a computer. We no longer have to carry thick travel guides which are out of date. It suites my purpose fine.
