Does anyone know if the '27 Fordor windshield had any kind of gasket for the dash ? Also the cowl? Also the upper and lower frame ...did it have a rubber glass seal of any kind ? I didn't find any seals in the windshield area when dismantling the car. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll be watching this thread as well.........
Don,
Since mine came home in pieces and the previous owner had fiddled with it, I have no trace of any seals on my Fordor. In my mind there should be some there though.
On my original, never restored '26 Fordor, there are hard and cracked, but original gaskets on the sides of the upper half of the windshield. The gaskets on each side, has a round bead that slides into a channel that runs the length of each side with a flat wedge seating against the front of each post, sealing tight when the windshield is pulled shut with the sliding locks. There is a small H (h) rubber gasket that sits across the top of the lower windshield glass and the upper windshield glass seats against the upper leg of the small case h with the two lower legs of the h gasket fitting on each side of and across the top of the lower glass. I don't know if there are any gaskets around the lower half of the windshield as it is permanently attached and I have never had it off but I'll bet there is some kind of seal at the posts and across the bottom where it fits against the cowl to seal against blowing rain. Jim, I do have the post gaskets and "h" gasket for the upper but I was trying to figure out if the glass had a frame gasket or if it was just sealed with a caulking? I also had no evidence of any kind of rubber seal around the lower fixed window where it meets the dash or the cowl. I can use silicon but was curious if there had been a rubber seal at one time? Thx.
The glass is seated in nickel plated brass channel. Bill
