Hello All,
In celebrating New Mexico's Centennial, our community will be re-creating a photograph that was taken at our County Courthouse during the early 1900's. The "new" photo will be taken this coming Thursday (May 24th) and will include one car for every decade. I have been invited to include my Runabout as one of the cars.
Because we do not have information of the date the photograph was taken, we were hoping to get some help in identifying some, or all of the year models of these cars to learn more about the photograph. Maybe identifying the years of these cars can get us a closer time frame of the year the photo was taken. I can't recognize any of these being Model T's, but maybe I'm wrong.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you,
Orlando
None of them are Model T's.
The Radiator Badges look like Buick.
Orlando - I say "early teens", but that's a guess, based on the thought that if it was much later than that, there would probably be at least one or two Model T's in the picture.
Three of them look like Buick's.
All of the cars are RHD, all have gas headlights, because all of the cars are "head-on" I can't say with certainty but I'll bet that none of the touring cars have front doors. About half of these cars do not have windshields. Check out the hats of the ladies in the back of the right forground touring; those big hats were loosing favor by the mid teens. The three cars with radiator script are Buicks.
I'm going to guess that picture was made no later than 1912.
Hi Orlando...
Dad says to say "Hi"
I found a buick picture site that might help

with any luck.
I would date those cars no later than 1909.
I'm with Royce - 1909 ... 1 yr +/-
The two Buicks on the left appear to be Model Fs, which were the large two cylinder cars made in 1908, 1909 and 1910. There were subtle differences in the bodies for each year. A person with the photograph in front of him and a magnifying glass could probably pinpoint the year.
The Buick on the far right appears to be a four cylinder, 1909 or 1910 Model 17, indicated by its size and the distinct curved front fenders.
Thank you all for your replies. From your observations, I feel comfortable telling folks that it's probably in the area of 1909, 1910, 1911.
Maybe someone will show up on Thursday (photo day) with information about the photo. If someone does, I'll post it here.
Shawn, hello to you, and please extend my hello to your dad and brother.

The large Touring cars in the front row are 1909 or 1910 Cadillac's. Cadillac was one of the few cars that had the tie rods located in front of the front axle. Buick and Oldsmobile had them mounted behind the front axle. Starting in 1912 Cadillac had electric lights and a self starter - generator combination. Lamps were all round side lamps these are Gray and Davis square ones that look a lot like 13-14 T lamps. The car on the far left looks like a Maxwell as is the white one behind the Cadillac on the right in the front row. The big dark Touring car in the second row looks like a large four cylinder Maxwell. I would date the picture at 1910 or 1909. No cars have electric lights and in those days they would have put the latest and more expensive cars in the front row for the picture shoot.
