Shortly after I saw a commercial touting a metal wallet that prevents criminals from using portable scanners to read your credit card number through your pocket and wallet, I received the following video that convinced me there is something to it.

It may be overkill, but I now have a piece of foil in one of the outer unused credit card pockets on each side of my wallet, that sandwich the contents of my wallet when folded in my pocket. Better safe, than sorry. Jim Patrick

Like Jim I though that it was another scam until I got a Global Entry card to help speed me thru immigration and they supplied me with a copper coated sleeve to keep it in.
The note said that it was to protect me from scanners.

I think I'm a believer

It only works on RFID chipped cards not magnetic stripe cards.

C'mon', Fred, do you really believe all that TSA Security Theater crap? Rational people realize all this personal humiliation is to keep the public scared.

:-) LOL :-)

Ralf -- I believe that everything the government tells me is the truth - nothing but the truth - the whole truth - the absolute truth - And when Ob is talking he is telling us his truth

Take Global Warming for instance - I was at the sea shore the other day and saw first hand what was happening.
When I got there the beach was 50 foot wide and just a few hours later it was only 40 ft wide.
A sure indication that the polar caps were melting and the water was soon going to cover the land.
I went home and moved all my stuff into my neighbor's row boat cause the government took it away from him and gave it to me.

I also believe the government when we are told that the rich should support the poor.
I've decided to become a poor person so the rich guys can support me and I can live better.
I expect to use government food assistance so I can have steak and beer every night, and lobster and wine every weekend.
When I do it right I'll get cable TV with a high speed internet connection and a 65 inch flat screen.
My wife and I will have new laptops every year and we will have someone mow the lawn for us.
I'll get a new Caddy every two years (I'd really like a German car but the government will only allow me to get American vehicles.) and free gasoline for life.
I'll probably have to clean the swimming pool myself (I don't have one now but with Gov't assistance I'll be able to get one.) because I can't expect them to do everything for me.

Did I mention health insurance? Why should I care? It might take years to get an operation but the government will take care of it!

Almost forgot - I'll need to become an illegal alien so I can vote but they won't question me about anything because it might hurt my feelings.. :-)

ID theft is a fact, is a growing concern and is on the rise, especially here in Florida. In Tampa, recently, 49 members of an ID theft ring were arrested. It is estimated they cost the taxpayers and their unfortunate victims, hundreds of millions of dollars.

If you think this is a government inspired conspiracy, that is your prerogative, but if a couple of pieces of aluminum foil inside my wallet will keep my ID and credit cards safe from I.D thieves, and my bank account safe from being cleaned out, I will err on the side of caution, as I can't afford the risk if its' true. Can you? Jim Patrick

Oh, I suppose the next shoe to drop here is the taxpayers vs. tax takers.

While we were on our daily hustle hike and park bench pushups the other day, my good neighbor complained that only half the people are taxpayers, and the other half are tax takers.

I responded that this five acre park we hike through every morning is a tax taker. It could be sold by the city for $5 Million, and taxpaying houses could be put there.

He didn't like that idea so good, partly because the park backs up to his house...
