A nice couple of nearly new cars; a 1915 & a 1916. Now what do you call original? Look at the added striping on the nearly new cars that neither appear black to me. All photos courtesy of the State Library of Victoria.
David, interesting that the the car carrying the 3 lovelies in your other post is striped in the same fashion. Must be the same dealer.
While the lighter coloured car has the forked headlight and brass rims associated with our 1915 cars, the darker one also has forked lights, but the later black rims. How late were the forked lights used?
Allan from down under.
They really knew how to party back then.
Tree huggers ??
I must respectfully disagree.
According to the search I did:
Eras of Elegance - The Edwardian Era (1901-1919) The Edwardian era corresponds with the reign of King Edward VII, whose ... The "
Edwardian" style broadly encompasses the years of 1901 through 1919.
This would be Edwardian

Well I didn't think of that.

I would love to know what colours they were...

No let's see, I sometimes think Victoria is still Edwardian even in our Elizabethan age! Heh, heh...only joking guys.
Would that car now be called an "Autumnmobile"?
The wide black stripe on the one car appears in both photos. Perhaps the same car?
Two more photos from the same event-
Unfortunately I can't load a larger version of the above image, so will try again later.
Now with the second photo, it is the same location, but different event with a later car.
