Art, Garnet, Dan or ?? Could anyone look up the patent drawings on this Williams Accelerator. I have some of the linkage but not all and I'm trying to figure out what is missing. Patent date is November 2, 1918.
Thanks
Yup, same thing I found, but much better Dan!
Garnet
That Williams brand was perhaps the most advertised too, and with the cable pull, was probably a good design.
I recall years ago in my first job, one of the ladies in the sewing dept. learned I had a Model T. At one break period, she began talking about her Model T as a young woman. She was in her 70's then, recalling with vivid memories that her T had the foot accelerator, a 'Williams Accelerator' by name, and how her T was different from the others with the ordinary hand throttle!
That should have said Dan's photo was much better. My pic is from August 28, 1924 Motor World if anyone has it.
Garnet
Dan and Garnet,
Thank you!! It looks like all I need is the cable which should be know big deal and the rod that is shown in Garnet's picture on the right side. It looks like the purpose of that rod is to hold the shaft going through the block level and give it an anchor point. Is there anyone out there using one of these?
Thanks again.
John I have several pcs too, and a wood cab truck w/one installed
Hi John,
Never ceases to amaze me what you have tucked away. I don't know if you can, but if you have an opportunity to take pictures of the one installed on your truck that would be great.
I might have that cable and linkage assembly buried away in my misc goodies, ill have to look.
US Patent 1284523
I think the cable is available at WalMart in the bike department. Looks like a brake cable on a bicycle.
Here's the cable setup for the Williams Foot Feed.
I can provide better close ups on the cable setup if needed.
If you type the patent number into the quick search at the Patent and Trademark Office - http://patft.uspto.gov/. I found the patent (it said 11/12/1918), but I couldn't get the plugin to work to view the images.

Yep, I have one in my collection it appears.
Gentleman, thank you for all your input. I was able to get a pretty good picture of what I have and what I need. My spring is broke, the brass piece that hooks to the carburetor has some bad ware and I need the throttle cable, but it all can probably be rebuilt. Everyone who posted, added a piece to the puzzle and that really helped. If anyone out there has a good linkage and would like to part with it I would be willing to buy it. Send me a PM. Thank you, again.
