Looks like the saw is power from a pulley attached to the engine crank. How common was this set up? I have seen lots of photos with belts from the rear wheels operating equipment, however this is the first time I have seen a pulley connected directly to the engine. Thanks for posting Jay.

David, when this photo was last posted I missed an unusual detail. Have you ever seen the post for the hoodbow clamp set in that position? Normally it higher and forward, about 1.5" below the top of the body. It's not a roadster pigtail type either. Is that some sort of clue to help date it? There is a similar set up on an Alice Springs car.
