I started a post a couple of months ago about putting a new top on my Tudor. I was advised to save the gutters as they do not make replacements. I found new gutters at Langs for those who are unaware they make replacements.

John,
Those gutters are not the same as the originals. They will work, but are different. The original gutters were steel. The main part of the gutter attached to the roof with a wood screw at each end and a series of nails along the middle. A cover strip is then slid in place to cover the nails.
The reproduction gutters are aluminum. A strip is attached to the roof, then the main part of the gutter snaps over that strip. These are probably for a Model A or something. Snyder's sells a rain gutter for the Model A pickup which is the same style as the Model T, but it is shorter and you will have to do some splicing to make it work.
I also think that the gutters used on 26-27 cars have a slightly different profile than the ones used on the 1925 and earlier.
So my advice remains the same - if you have the original gutters, save them!
Dave S.
I do have them Dave and thanks!
Good to see ya' back with us after the back surgery and all John, and with your mind back in the gutter as usual!
Here is what I believe the right gutters look like. The cover strip (left) snaps into the gutter (right). These are left over pieces from the ones I made for my '25 Tudor. It can be done but it's tricky to get the cover strip the right width.

Hello Everyone,
Dave S. and I have talked about these rain gutters in the past, and following one of those conversations I decided to see how many different gutters were used on the Closed Car 1915-1927.
It is quite an interesting subject when you look through the parts book and see just how many changes there were. As a result of that I decided to make up a table documenting the changes. The picture posted below is what I came up with. Regards, John
Good list John. Do you suppose it's all the same thing only different lengths or were there some variations in width and configuration?
Rich
I have gutters on my 24 Fordor but no covers, where would i find those? Or shod i make some with sheet metal.?
Rick
As I recall, there was a post at some point about using a small tape measure blade for a cover...

When I did our Fordor twenty fife years ago the tape measure is what I used. There was no chance of finding the correct strip here in Australia. Regards, John
Richard ,
It is hard to know just what variations there were on the different gutters. I guess that Dave would know if all the changes were documented and if there would be drawings in the archives at the Benson Ford Centre. Richard , if you made the gutters you have pictured, you are to be congratulated for an outstanding job. To me they look to be correct for the 1923-25 years. Great job!!
Best regards, John
